Balconies nearing completion for Crest Nicholson

Taunton Fabrications Ltd — 16/06/2025

Last week our team was back on-site with Crest Nicholson plc in Bristol, this time installing staircore balustrades, details still under wraps for now...

Whilst we were there, we took the opportunity to check in on the balconies we previously installed. Great to see them settling in nicely and looking the part!

Each balcony is fitted with AliDeck | Complete Balcony Component Solutions boards, chosen for their durability, low maintenance, and non-combustible finish which is perfect for residential developments. The system includes integrated drainage and guttering, allowing water to drain efficiently through the deck and away from the building façade, reducing the risk of pooling or staining.

Another step forward on a well-coordinated project with a great team, stay tuned for more updates on this project.

Balcony Installation in Action!

Taunton Fabrications Ltd — 15/07/2025

This install for Crest Nicholson plc at the Harry Stoke project in Bristol features our posted balconies, designed with a discrete connection system. Each balcony cassette is securely fixed back to the building using bearing angles and resin anchor studs, providing a reliable load-bearing surface and simplifying installation while also anchoring the balcony stack during the early stages of construction.

Installed using a 40t crane, each unit was lifted and fitted with speed and precision.

New Director Appointed

Taunton Fabrications Ltd — 22/08/2025

We are pleased to announce the promotion and appointment of Dave Baverstock to the position of Contracts Director.

Dave’s appointment to the Board of Directors marks a significant milestone in his career and strengthens our leadership team as we continue our strategic growth.

Dave joined Taunton Fabrications in 2008, beginning his career on the shop floor. Over the past 16 years, he has worked across numerous departments. Starting in the finishing and paint shop, Dave moved into fabrication and welding while simultaneously completing his NVQ in Engineering & Welding. He later joined the site installation teams, contributing to the successful delivery of numerous projects. Transitioning from site to office, Dave gained further experience in the estimating department, production office, and purchasing before finding his long-term role within the Contracts Team.

Alongside his practical experience, Dave pursued academic advancement, earning an HNC in Construction Management and subsequently obtaining further professional certifications. As Senior Contracts Manager, he has led several high-profile and complex projects, serving as a key point of contact for our clients and consistently demonstrating leadership and professionalism.

In his new role as Contracts Director, Dave will assume overall responsibility for all site-based operations and personnel.
